The purpose of this page is to compare data for one or two indictors across
multiple countries using a bar chart. Each bar that represents a country is
color-coded by region and income group.

You can choose to display one or two
indicators on the chart. Select a primary indicator from the drop down
menu. If you wish, you can select a second indicator in the Secondary
Indicator drop down menu. If you opt for having two indicators, the primary
indicator's axis will be on the left of the chart and appear as bars and
the secondary indicator's axis will be on the right and the data will be
displayed as dots. Furthermore, when you choose to display two
indicators, you can only sort countries in alphabetical order
(you cannot sort by ascending or descending order).

Select the country(ies) you would like to
include in the bar chart by first clicking on a country name on the list
on the left and then clicking on the Add button until the country appears
on the Selected Countries list on the right (you can select multiple
countries simultaneously by holding down the Control key while clicking on
country names). For easy selection of a number of countries you can apply
filters by World Bank Regions and/or World Bank Income Group. Just select a
group, then the corresponding list of countries will appear in the box
Countries, and click on the Select All button for the selected countries to
appear on the list on the right.
Chart Option: If desired, you may select some optional chart features. "Narrow
Bar Width" keeps the bar width in a narrow profile (this is recommended);
"Show Average" displays the average value for the displayed countries as a
horizontal line; "Start from zero" will rescale the x-axis by setting the
minimum value at 0 instead of setting it at the minimum value of the data
range; and, "Sort" provides options to sort the bar graph in Ascending,
Descending or Alphabetical order.
Click “Create Chart” to create/update the chart. The data will be displayed in
a table under the chart.
Click on one of the download options if you want to save the data in Excel
or Word. That way, you can use the data to create your own graphs, charts or
tables.
To save the chart and insert it in reports or documents, place your cursor on
the chart, right click and select Save picture as.
